Would I be able to get into UT Austin?

Hi, I’m a prospective sophomore, i am rank 105/660 and has a 4.85 gpa out of 6.0 (i know, it’s not good at all). i’m top 17
im in a few clubs, not much but i plan on joining national english honor society next year, french club, a few more clubs & once I get a car I will volunteer like crazy. I take all AP classes/6.0 classes, I don’t even have one 4.0 class. Most of them are above 90s but I have two that’s an 88. I know my stats will shift around, but I’m not the brightest and I don’t think I’ll move up…do you think I’d be able to get in with the pace I’m going? I would like to major in business (is it competitive?) I attend a texas public school.

Do you guys have any tips for me? I only have 2 years of spanish and I will do 2 years of french by the end of my senior year, do you guys recommend me take spanish 3 online or something? Please help.

Also, I have always had a passion for buying and selling ever since I was young and handling my own money and finances responsibly. As I got older my passion got more and more real and, I am starting to sell more and more (I’m 15), I’m planning on moving to Amazon as a seller to improve my sales, if I wrote about that would it even interest the admissions officer or would they think it’s just an immature attempt at trying to be special?

Focus on your classes as much as you can, in the next two years, take grade weighted classes and see how you do in the psat. Get tutors for the hardest classes. Grades and sat or act score will mean a lot, and develop your passion for business. Don’t worry, you’ll get into a decent college, Texas A&M and some of the UT branches are all also bound to give you a great education. Good luck!

Stats aren’t great, but the fact that you run a business and want to major in business is great. UT right now is big on “fit to major” so that fact that your main EC – buying and selling – aligns with your major of interest is good and, yes, should be the topic of an essay. What are you buying and selling?
