Hey everyone,
I'm new to CC and this is my first post so bare with me if I don't use the proper acronyms.

Well I was just wondering if it would be easier for me to be admitted into Fordham instead of NYU for certain reasons:

1) I go to a Catholic, private, co-educational, college-prep high school.
2) I worry that my stats are not up to par with other applicants to NYU:
* 3.9 weighted GPA
* 1830 combined SAT score
* CR: 600s, Eng: 600s, Math: 600s
* good reccomendations
* volunteer at a hospital, over 100 community service hrs
* 13 years of classical dance, 14 years of piano, 7 years of violin
* Peer Counselor(Link Crew), Creative Writing Club(President),
Random Acts of Kindness Club, Student Ambassador, Founder of
Next Generation(An organization directed to teaching the youth of
today about several health issues concering their communities...I
am hoping to win a 1k grant to implement my proposal from the
National youth leadership forum on medicine)
* I attended three leadership conferences/programs: National Youth
Leadership Forum on Medicine, Asian Pacific Youth Leadership
Program, People to People Student Ambassador Program in Europe.
* Attending a Catholic High School means that I am required to take
4 years of theology(two of which have been honor courses) and I
am required to perform community service, required to attend group
mass. And my theology teacher is a Jesuit Priest who always writes
the most glowing reccomendations for me.
*** I realize how low my stats are and how rare it is that a high school student with my stats gets into a school as prestigious as NYU or Fordham. However, there is a trend in my stats that indicates improvement and I plan to put into my personal statement, important reasons as to why my stats were not strong in the first place(personal issues). I want to learn and I want to grow and become a better student and leader, I just hope that comes out in my personal statement as well as I think it will.

Also if anyone could list any schools they believe would be good for me, that would be great. I am interested in Columbia University, St. Mary's College in California, Loyola Marymount, Pepperdine University, the UCs, Udub and university of seattle.

--> P.S. Sorry for the length and please be honest. Thank you.
