Would I make it if I applied Early Decision? I'm aware that acceptance rate rises to like 50%. Would I make that? Is the rate likely to change this year?

ALSO another question.

Is this Early Decision, RESTRICTIVE? As in, can I apply to other schools even after I submitted my Early Decision application (and later withdraw them if I'm accepted)?

Hey Mr. Simplesimple,

You have a wonderful chance in my book, a near-perfect GPA, and the amount of ec’s and awards is stunning! I think Early Decision is restricted for The College of William & Mary, though I can’t confirm that. Either way, feel good about your chances!

Could you chance me please?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1394330-chance-me.html</a></p>

It’s 3.99 with weights. The top ranked kids have about 4.58. So, I’m actually very weak GPA-wise.

oh and I also went in for an on-campus interview at W&M. I think it went extremely well.

What is your unweighted GPA (it is usually viewed as much more important)?

Match (may turn into a reach if unweighted GPA is rather low)

Taking the SAT again should be a priority. I’m not an expert on W and M, but I know that higher scores are always better. Your blue book results look promising. From my experience the last few weeks before a test date you should solely focus on your weakest subject and just practice practice practice on that.

Your ecs are very leadership heavy, which is good, but I don’t see a passion. You do art, piano, karate, etc. What is the thread? Colleges like to see a common Passion throughout. Your essays could help flesh that out.

ED is most often binding. I’m sure there is more info on that on the college’s website. Speaking of, do your research! Knowing as much as possible about a school, especially your first choice, is good!

Overall, if you can find a way to express a Passion and make yourself unique somehow, you’re in fairly easily.

Good luck.

Throw me a chance http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1394276-chance-yale-scea-will-chance-back.html#post14865927</a></p>

Do William and Mary superscore in early decision?

@ArtsyGirl13 My school doesn’t provide unweighted. It takes things in context with the rest of the student. Unfortunately, I’m not doing too hot in that field. Do you think I’m likely/unlikely in?

@Bestillandknow0 I actually went in for an interview and talked extensively about my passion for politics/international relations/government. I talked about my obsession with Policy Debate/Speech/Model UN. I also used up my extracurricular blurb on the commonapp to talk about Policy Debate. I’d say so far I’ve effectively depicted my passion for politics/IR/government through the interview and essay

It all looks good, but i agree that the unweighted GPA might hurt you a little bit. Defenitly go for early decision if it is your top choice.

Will you chance me back?

Guys mainly what I’m asking is that will my SAT (perhaps predicted SAT), Extracurriculars, Leaderships, Interview, Supplemental things, Recommendations (which will be stellar btw, dunno if that matters) help me overcome my weak GPA?

I’m picking up this year. I have 2 Bs, 3 A+s, and 2 A’s thus far. I need to fix the 2 Bs though.

I’m going to send in an optional report of my first quarter report card. That way they know I’ve improved.

I had straight As/A+s 9th and 10th grade. I dropped down to 5 Bs and 2 Cs in my junior year.
I’m also going to include an explanation as to WHY my grades dropped. Serious reasons which I hope they will consider.

can someone give me their insight of whether or not I’d get in?

please guys? also if u would like chance back, please link me to your thread

Honestly, id say you are a strong candidate for ED despite your GPA because your EC’s are really good and even with just the 2060 i think you would be okay. However, if you can get the SAT to like 2200+, id say you are in.

Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1393435-chance-senior-usc-jhu-more.html</a></p>

Let me first forewarn you that, as a fellow senior, I shouldn’t be considered the most accurate source for chances. However, I have had several friends with lower SATs, similar class rank, and weaker extracurricular activities who have gotten into colleges with a similar acceptance rates as The College of William & Mary. I think you are a strong candidate and I do believe, as long as you haven’t taken only easy classes, that you should be able to get in, whether you apply early decision or not.

As to your question of whether or not it’s restrictive, I have to plead ignorance.

I’d appreciate a chance back when/if you have time. Thanks! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1394691-chances-selective-universities-thanks.html</a></p>

How high is W&M ranked in Virginia? Because I thought my chances were much lower than what I’ve heard on this thread.

W&M is #2 among Virginia public universities (don’t know overall)…

Please please

Improve your SAT scores(i’m not saying that your scores are bad but you still have time to improve them, just in case) and you are definitely in, i’d say. I mean your EC’s are impressive and your GPA should not be a huge problem if everything else is okay.Good Luck.
Chance me back if you can:
