Would they even look at them or consider it or would it just be a waste of time?
Sorry to say this, but I think it would be unnecessary to send new scores at this point. The SSAT is only a small portion of the application process and would not change your status significantly. What I do recommended for you is to send a letter to XYZ school saying that you would like to stay on the waitlist, and will enroll if admitted.
Also, don’t be discouraged. I was waitlisted by every school I applied to the first time I applied, but I received good news the second year around. There’s always more opportunities ahead and other schools to consider.
Best of luck!!
Yes, it is possible & yes, it would be considered. However, if your SSAT score is already high, then a slightly higher high score probably won’t make a significant impact.
My SSAT score was the 88th Percentile
It is unlikely that you were waitlisted due to your SSAT score unless it was way below the 80th percentile. Assuming they have any spots open up, they will be looking for a few things: A kid who is likely to say yes (that’s why it is good to contact them and express enthusiasm) and perhaps one who shares traits with a kid who decided to go elsewhere (the tuba-playing lacrosse goalie their music and sports programs sorely needed, for example).
Agree that your SSAT was not the reason that you were waitlisted at Kent.
Nevertheless, if you feel confident that you can improve your score & break into the low nineties, then go ahead & retake just so you feel that you did everything within your power to move up on Kent’s waitlist.
This should be a question on the waitlist thread and NOT its own thread. Anyways, I assure you that your SSAT score was not the reason you were waitlisted and a new score will DEFINITELY NOTbe the reason you would (potentially) be taken off the waitlist
Not in a billion years, IMHO! Plus as far as I can see, there are only two more test dates this season, the first being on April 27, which may be too late anyway.
