Would it be recommended for me to take Physics right now during my junior year?

I have already taken Biology and Chemistry and I was wondering if it is recommended to take this course. I know for a fact that I won't be going into any fields that involve math or science when I'm older. Also, do UC's require you to take 3 years of science during your high school years?

Which UCs are you planning to apply to, and what’s your intended major?

I think you should take physics to stay competitive since there are going to be a loooooot of people applying and spaces are limited, especially for certain majors. UCs require only two of the three lab sciences (biology, chemistry, and physics) but it also states 3 years is “reccommended”.

Well when I graduate high school I am going to go to a community college for 2 years and then transfer to a UC which is most likley going to be UCLA or USC. I am planning on double majoring. I’m positive I am going to major in Theatre and earn my BFA degree as well as study something else that I have not chosen yet.

Then physics isn’t really neccessary for you; if you could fill it up with an elective like drama instead to help you with your major only if you’re 100 percent sure that you want to further your studies in Theatre. USC isn’t in the UC system, its a private college, btw; I’ve heard it was a good place to study film as well as UCLA and Dodge at Chapman Uni, if you wanna look into that. As for the second major, play to your academic strengths so you can choose a career that’ll act as Plan B.

Good luck  Theatre sounds really fun!

Idk how your school works but I took AP chem junior and saved physics for senior year but if you aren’t going to apply to the UCs immediately after high school then you don’t need the science if it doesn’t interest you

I have been acting for some years now and it’s something that I really want to pursue as a career. Oh I know USC isn’t in the UC system, I was just referring to the fact that a UC I would transfer too would be UCLA or USC as another option. Yea, UCLA is great! There are a lot of notable alumni that have attended UCLA and studied theatre.

Absolutely! My Plan B major is going to be something that can really show my academic strengths! Thanks for the help! It really is! :)

good luck in acting (not my forte)

@egelloc80: Well my school requires me to take 2 years of sciences either biology, AP Biology, Chemistry, AP Chem, Physics or Physiology. Oh and thank you so much! :)

Well thats good but you also need to check for the college

UCLA your ok but they recommend 3 years

Your also fine for USC

Yes I have checked and I am most likely going to take Physics senior year. Right now I am taking AP Micro-Economics, AP Literature, English 3, U.S History, Academic Tutor (elective course) and Pre-Calculus, so as you can see I really had no room for Physics this junior year.

great then the decision is made because you don’t want to overload yourself

Exactly, my decision is made. Senior year it is! Thanks for helping me out.
