Hi! I want to major in architecture
and my course load for Junior year is

AP English 3 (Lit)
AP French 4
AP Envisci
AP Comp gov
AP Human geo
AP Physics B
AP Art History

Would it be better to just self study for Comp gov, human geo, and envisci to just free up my schedule to have time to do EC's and focus on my more tougher classes?

What do colleges think about self studying?

If you think you’ll be committed enough to self-study that would be a good decision for you. You’ll also have more room to take classes you feel are more important.

Colleges don’t frown upon self-studying since there are schools that don’t offer AP courses. The only thing about self-studying is that you won’t get any points from your high school or a higher GPA. It’s a purely personal matter. If you pass the AP exam in May then the college will just reward you the credit you deserve depending on the AP score.

I could see why you would want to self study, but I wouldn’t self study 3 APs. That’s a lot of work, even if you are highly motivated.

I would self study ES if you’ve already had some exposure to it. Human Geo is also an easier AP to self study.

the problem is, human geo and comp gov is a combined class. One semester comp gov, the other human geo… :O
