I'm planning to retake AP calculus a/b again. Just because I didn't pass the exam and ap calculus b/c doesn't fit my schedule. I was trying to have it for 0 period so I would fit my schedule but that's not a possibility anymore. And it's conflicting everyone's schedule. So there's only 4 people enrolled in the class right now & that's too small and they might close down the class. So all I'm asking is if retaking a class that I got an A in will look bad on college apps? Should I retake it?

It’ll look bad. Is there anyway you could take BC?

Why exactly do you want to retake it?

I want to take it because I want to pass the AP exam so I’ll be ahead in math class when I attend college. I also had a very bad teacher so I pretty much didn’t learn anything. So I shouldn’t take the class??? It would look better to retake the class I got an A in or to take a regular class like human phys. ?

Yeah, it will look bad, but on the bittersweet side… Congratulations on abusing the system if it gives you a weighted GPA boost. Thanks a lot for kicking the legitimate between rank 10 and 15 in the head
(In other words, don’t do it!)

I’m not really worried about my class rank because my rank is #1 haha. So, even if I don’t take Calc b/c wouldn’t affect me much. Lol

Take Calc BC because it has an AB subscore. So even if you bomb the BC material, you can still get a good grade for the AB.

Yeah, but the thing to consider is they might remove the class since theres only 4 ppl. My school decided to have AP chem, ASB, Calc b/c, Ap art history, AP US… All in the same period. Smart…

I think it’ll look bad. And it looks really bad that you got an A yet you didn’t pass the exam. Rather than have the class show up twice on your transcripts, just self-study (I’m sure you understood it somehow, or how did you get that A? Unless your school inflates grades). Buy a review book and have a peer tutor you.

The teacher that taught calculus for 10 years left because he got a promotion. And he was a really good teacher… So now nobody wants to teach calculus and we have a new teacher every year. My last Calc teacher never taught us a thing and we had a sub at least 2 times a week.

I’m not sure why you keep asking this question over and over in different threads. The response will be the same. Yes, it will look bad to take the class again. Please contact the college that you plan on attending and asking them what they will think of it.

Grade inflation alert. Take it at JC if you want credits or self study.
