I’m currently planning on taking AP Gov, AP Psychology, AP Language, AP Calculus, AP Seminar, and Spanish 4 next year. I currently have all of the credits that my school requires to graduate. I have an unweighted GPA of 4.0. I’ve gotten 5’s on all of the previous AP exams that I’ve taken. I have an after-school job and am in DECA, the National Honors Society, and the Spanish Honors Society, all of which I do community service for. Do you think it’s okay if I take two study halls? Because of my busy schedule, I definitely think that having two would be very beneficial, but I don’t want to take two if it will look bad on college applications.
It depends on what colleges you are appling to.
High school graduation requirements are not the same as filling the requirements/reccomendations of colleges (found on the admission page of their web site). Selective colleges prefer four years in each of the cores, including three lab sciences. Some have a fine arts requirement.
Cross check with the colleges of interest before finalizing your schedule. My concern is that you are missing a science (unless you doubled up in a previous year?) and, if you are applying to tippy tops, many of your fellow applicants will have filled one or both of those two study spots.
No it’d look great! Colleges will see that you’re putting lots of effort into the classes that you ARE taking!
