Hello,
I am currently a Junior in High School and am attempting to plan out what I want to do this summer.
I have decided that I may attend the JSA or get an internship at the local Government office. I am wondering which one you think would be more beneficial, which one would look better on a college application, and which one would be more enjoyable.

I think JSA would be a lot of fun, tough classes yet it would give me some High School credit and also a little hands-on experience.

The internship would prepare me for a job in Politics and would give me a lot of hands-on experience which, in turn, would educate me in the world of Politics instead of just a class.

Would it be more beneficial for me to go to JSA or get the internship? If I receive the internship, I would also work on my free time in the summer as well, which may be a plus.

Any opinions on the pros and cons would be very beneficial.
Thanks!

im a big fan of internships. ive done a fair amount, some prestigious. its great preparation for the future-- i can get almost anything i want now, even though im just in high school. but it all comes down to what you prefer- i think im more comfortable with work than class

That honestly depends on the experience you are looking for. I attended the JSA Summer School at Georgetown and I loved it. It was pricey, but I got a scholarship and fundraised the rest. If you are looking for a residential experience with awesome speakers, JSA is the way to go. The class is definitely not a joke, but I got an A. I did have to actually work for it.

However, if you are looking to stay close to home and have that experience, an internship at a congressman's district office is a great option.
