Would majoring in business prepare me for law school?

Hi, I’m currently a junior in high school and I’m considering law school for the future. Would majoring in business be better than majoring in prelaw?

Thanks

Well, prelaw wouldn’t help at all; it might actually harm you (prelaw majors have relatively low LSAT scores, and majoring in the topic wouldn’t give you an interesting-looking major on your resume or law school applications), so take prelaw off the table.

Business would be better than prelaw simply because prelaw is an awful choice, but that doesn’t mean that you should major in it for purposes of getting into law school. For law school you should want to major in something that gives you a lot of reading/writing experience and a lot of analytical thinking opportunities. I don’t know if a business major does that, but lots of other majors (history, foreign languages, etc.) do. However, be sure to major in something that you like a lot (which will help you get good grades) and is helpful for getting a job.
