Would MIT match a financial aid award if presented with a more competitive offer from a peer school?

Hi everyone! I was wondering whether MIT would reconsider my financial aid award if I present them with a better offer from another top school?

Plain and simple - no.
This question comes up every year or so.

Looks like you have a choice to make.

^And just to add, I’d recommend talking with the financial aid folks if you think there’s a difference between your award and what you think your award should be. It’s not a magic wand, but they will adjust the package if there’s been a mistake or misunderstanding or a change in circumstances.

My kid wrote FA a letter asking for aid to be reconsidered as his minimum wage in this state would not equal his summer contribution. They send a new FA package and raised their scholarship amount.
