Would my dishonesty record from cc lower chance of transferring to UC?

Last time i cheated on exam and got caught and my prof reported it to Dean's office.
Will i ever have a chance to go in UCLA or UCB ???

i never had any F,D,Cs before, 2Bs and all As.

If you’re cheating on community college exams, and aren’t even doing it discreetly, something tells me UCLA and UC Berkeley aren’t the schools for you.

I’m sure that I would have only A’s and a couple B’s if I cheated too…

I would assume that any disciplinary action taken against would at least be noted and taken into account. However, I wouldn’t suggest that you would be declined admission solely because of a single documented incident.

Although I’m not necessarily condoning your choice to cheat, the education system is bunk, anyway. Therefore, many students are prone to do what ever they can to function, survive, and get out of the system.

There was definitely a series of questions on the app asking about things similar to this, but I cant remember if it asks this specific question. It does ask if youve been on academic probation, so if you got that you will have to mention it.

I think if you dont mention it at all you will get into the schools and then get rescinded after you submit your transcipts.

Yeah if they don’t ask you directly I would put it in the additional comment section and explain what happened and what you learned from it. Don’t try and hide anything because they will find it and use it against you.

Just for curiosity’s sake… what class was it? And how were you attempting to cheat? Did you have notes? Were you looking at someone else’s paper? Did you have a plan to collaborate with someone?

@UCBHopeful16 That was exactly what I was thinking lol!

Right? Cause it just says the, “last time I cheated.” Which leaves one to reasonably assume this means that this person has cheated before. That, to me at least, makes the entire 3.8 completely questionable.

I transferred to UCLA from UCR. At UCR someone plagiarized my paper and I was sent to the Disciplinary Office and I was still written up for that act even though I did not do it on purpose. The only way UCLA can find out about your academic integrity issues is if you sign a disclosure with your current community college stating that they are allowed to give that information out to other colleges.

When I did study abroad with another UC they needed a disciplinary clearance (which I signed for UCR to release it to the other UC) and they saw that I had a penalty on my record. However, I explained my situation to them and if you are honest, they will understand. Go ask your CC how they are holding your dishonesty record.

I transferred over to UCLA without a problem/ or hearing from the disciplinary office at UCR or UCLA.

Good luck

If you have to cheat to get by in community college, you’re gonna have a bad time in a top UC.

Or he can just cheat at the UC?
