My sport is extremely time consuming. I am by no means a good player, nor am I pursuing to play the sport in college. Can I say that my decision to quit was based off an injury in the additional comments section?

You don’t even need to make up an excuse. If anyone asks, just say it was taking up too much time and you didn’t enjoy it and/or you wanted to use the time to pursue other activities.

Totally agree, but I want to emphasize, you should not make up an excuse. If you start with the untruths there, where does it stop?

I agree with the above comments. Your situation is not unusual for seniors - the course workload and college applications are often too much to manage. However, you may want to devote more time to another EC activity that interests you more during the time you would have spent on water polo. And you never know, maybe you will participate in the sport as a club or intramural activity in college, and enjoy it more.
