Would Rutgers be a safety for me?

3.3 GPA
1910 SAT

3 years environmental club member, two years of school newspaper, babysitting. Not much else.

It depends on if you’re in-state or out-of-state. If you’re in-state, your chances are much higher, but either way I’d say it’s more of a match school for you.

^ You clearly do not know what you are talking about. You would easily get in. This is a low safety.

It’s a match. Your SAT score is slightly above their average and it depends whether your GPA is weighted or unweighted. A safety would be Rowan.

The GPA I listed is unweighted. How about the University of Pittsburgh? Would that also be a match?

Yes, Pitt would also be a match.

Lol. A 1910 sat score is not “slightly above their average”. Maybe 1600, but definitely not 1910.

Only wrinkle is what major, Rutgers has a few competitive majors.

Wizard: if you’d bothered checking the CDS, you’d have seen that the average SAT score at Rutgers is in the 1750-1850 range (hence: 1910 is slightly above 1850). 65% students score higher than 600 in math, 42% in CR. 2000 is the bottom of the top quartile.

Safety but for what major? For engineering(1900 - 2180), it’s a low reach. For pharmacy(2100 - 2290), it’s high reach. For Arts, Sciences, and Business(range: 1700 - 2100), it’s still only match. This is for New Brunswick. No way is your SAT score + GPA a “safety” like the above posters said, unless you’re thinking about Rutgers Camden. Write great Rutgers essay and list those ECs. I have seen so many 1700s get into Rutgers New Brunswick from my school, but only because of their involvement in ECs. Medical department at that, too!
