Would studying abroad hinder or help my ambitions for law school?

Hello everyone!

I plan on studying abroad as a sophomore next year, and I'm wondering how that will affect my preparation and admission to law school. I know that most people take the LSAT during their third year and that you apply during the fall of your 4th year, so that's why I'd like to do it my 2nd year.

Nonetheless, would that negatively impact my LSAT prep and transcript evaluation? Would it perhaps help my mindset and overall perspective of things? Typically, how many law students have studied abroad during undergrad?

Thanks!

Lots of students enroll in Study Abroad programs. I can think of no reason it would help or hinder you in any way at all. It’s a great experience. Go and have fun. (Many students take the LSAT Spring of Jr year or Fall or senior year. )
