I was considering taking dual credit Greek, but as it wasn’t my first choice for a language, I want to make sure it’s worth it. So would it stand out on a transcript or would it just be taken into account like any other language?
Is this Ancient Greek, or modern? We have the former at my school, and its known to be one of the hardest languages to take. If you aren’t passionate about it, you should take something else. Not sure about modern, but you should still just take the language that interests you the most. Spanish may seem generic, but its undeniably one of the most useful second languages to learn in America.
Taking a dual credit class will help with your course rigor, which is attractive to colleges. Taking Greek, however, is unlikely to make you more attractive to colleges. If it’s not something you want to take for your own purposes, then don’t take it.
It is best to get to Level 4 of a language…so if you have taken, say, Spanish it is best that you get to at least Spanish 4.
Then it depends on what you are not taking if you are taking DE classes…I know someone who is taking Public Speaking and Sociology as DE but no science ans wants to go into the health professions. Bad move if you ask me.
