Would this be a good topic for the transfer essay?

I want to transfer to Washington University in St. Louis from community college.

I have Aspergers. When I was in high school, I had a 3.93 and I had good ACT scores, but I didn't apply to my dream school because I had a pathological fear of being judged by the admissions officer and of writing about myself. I basically took the safest path and went to community college where everyone was accepted. I really feel like I've bettered myself here, and I'm ready to write the essays and present myself for judging.

Do you think that writing about how I've bettered myself and am ready to be a student at a real university is a good angle from which to approach the common app transfer essay?

Also, the application says not to tailor the essay to one school, but if Washington University is the only school for which I'm going to use the common app, should I personalize it for them? I feel like I'd be unnecessarily limited if I didn't.

Thanks for the advice.

No, that is not specific enough. What would Washington University in St. Louis offer you that you cannot get at your current college or at another school? That’s what you need to answer.

Yes, but the common app asks me not to customize it for any university. How can I write about how good WashU is without doing that?

You create an alternate version of the Common App to submit for each school: http://www.cacolleg**********/2011/12/how-to-create-an-alternate-version-of-common-app/

Sorry, link didn’t come thru google how to create an alternate version of common app.

Here, try this one: https://www.commonapp.org/CommonApp/Docs/AlternateVersionTechnologyFAQ.pdf

So I should personalize the essay for each university? Even though it asks me not to? Honestly, customization makes more since, the prompt just asks not to for some reason.
