My son just got an invite via personal email to attend "Juniors Day" at a D1 school for their swim recruiting efforts... meet the team & coaches etc etc. We are thinking of asking the coach if he's have any interest in also meeting one of the new record-holders on his HS team. The buddy in question would be in the top free for his best stroke were he currently attending. My son mostly wants a buddy to come with him for the ten hour round trip drive...

One kid's best strokes are breast/IM, while the other's are fly/free, so its not like they are direct competitors LOL. But I don't want to irritate the coach. Thoughts anyone?

I agree, have the friend contact the coach, mainly so the coach can contact him too. I am sure that any coach would be trilled to get a referral from a recruited athlete.

I don’t know how swimming $ works, is there a schol for each team member? I’m just saying that what if there are 9 spots open with $, and the friend gets the 9th spot and your son is #10? I personally wouldn’t bring any competition! It’s probably too late now,as the friend surely knows about the school too. Is he being recruited D1 as well?
