would this be lying?

i put on my University of California application that i played 3 years of varsity tennis and i was EXPECTING to complete the fourth year (this year senior year). however my coach is a total dick and i quit the team this year. is that something they would check on?

cmon 9 reads and not even an opinion?

If it's something you didn't know would happen I don't think you're accountable.

plus do you really think that is going to make a difference in your admission truly? i suppose the point is to be honest but in reality are they not going to admit you because u didnt play a sport for one year?

How would they even find out???

i highly doubt that they check the athletic records of EVERY student applying to the school. unless you're like some tennis god and every school in the country is recruiting you.

I'd email them about it...but that's just me. I mean, they aren't going to be like, "OMG no tennis?? In that case we have to reject him!!!" They probably won't care, but it's better to tell them and have them say "whatever" than not to tell them and have them, I dunno, reject you for lying or something.

But maybe I'm paranoid. Whatever, it's up to you.
