It scares me that your user-name is “LowIncome”. I understand that you are, and I also know that you SHOULD use it to your advantage, but I wouldn’t let it define you.

My money is on trollin’, but if not…then you’ve got a really good shot.

However, I wouldn’t be surprised if any person got rejected from H, Y, P, S, etc. That’s sort of the rule of college apps.

How about you look at some context? A composite score is not as indicative as the sub scores. The writing category is a joke and only shows how much you studied for that section. The real scores are math and critical reading. If someone did really well in those two, but didn’t do so well in writing, and ended up with a 2050, that could still be a great score.

Don’t know why these “chance me” threads pull people in like s’mores at a campfire but…

There should be a rule that every kid fills out a Common App when they’re in 8th grade so that they can understand the SPACE and INFORMATION limitations in the college app process. OP/■■■■■ has a litany of stuff that while impressive, will have to be boiled down to the “real story”.

Perfect transcript - Yes
Test scores - decent
AP results - good
ECs - plenty but why so many? just checking off the boxes?
Sports - nothing there
Music - fun/professional?
Fun person - Stanford needs to pick this out of your essay and supp.

Don’t think you can create a good story about yourself with emphasis in one area.

Stanford Admissions= total crap shoot. no logic in spending hours guessing. In all honesty, Stanford more than most competitive schools look for who the person actually is, rather than what the person got on the SAT or what their GPA is. Essays are perhaps the most important part of a Stanford App.

you posters who are scoffing at this applicant’s stats are just making yourselves look like nubs and degrading your own credentials…just saying. if she is telling the truth, then we are looking at a two time NATIONAL CHEM OLYMPIAD (UNSCO) team member. these are the type of people who receive likely letters from harvard, etc. usually these type of people are not stupid, which explains the imperfect gpa since she probably goes to a competitive college prep or private school and takes advanced courses such as science electives beyond ap level or math courses beyond calculus.

I think the OP has a good shot

^^Umm, just letting you know. Her “USNCOx2 Qualifier” status means that she qualified to take the national exam, along with around 800 other students in the nation. You’re thinking along the lines of a USNCO Finalist/Study Camp participant. But I’m glad you think those kinds of people are “not stupid” - hopefully, they’ll be able to get into Stanford REA this year. :D

So did they get in?

Lol . . . he was def trollin’
