EA with Low GPA and Decent ACT + ECs?

Hey guys!

Stanford is my absolute first choice and I would really like to apply EA but I'm not sure if it'd be a good decision considering the fact that I started off high school horribly.

I'd really appreciate any input!

I'm an Asian Male.

9th grade: 85 uw
10th grade GPA: 91 uw
11th grade GPA: 98 uw

My school also doesn't rank which makes this process a lot more confusing. It's also top 50 in the nation.

ACT: 33
SAT IIs: 750 USH, 760 Chem

Courses:
All Honors if not AP
AP World - 5
AP US History - 5
AP Chemistry - 5
AP English - 5
(considered one of the most rigorous schedules in my school I really hate to sound pretentious)

Courses for next year:
BC Calc, AP Lit, AP Econ, AP Bio

ECs:
Senior President
Junior President
Co-founder and co-captain of our Policy Debate Team
Mock Trial
Key Club Divisional Secretary
Key Club VP
Key Club Treasurer
Patient Care at a specialty hospital
Assistant Researcher at a local college
Administrative Assistant on Wall St

Awards:
-New York City Policy Debate City Championships Semi-Finalist and a bunch of other debate things (best speaker, best team)
-New York City Science and Engineering Fair Third Place in Chemistry
-Navy Marine Corps Award
-Qualified for New York State Policy Debate Championships
-National Spanish Examination Gold Medalist
-Certificate of Excellence from Oracle ThinkQuest Competition (Top 10%)

Alright, if you somehow made it through all of that bless you and thanks in advance again!

Stanford doesn’t consider your freshman year, so don’t worry about your modest performance during that year.

You’re definitely competitive academically, and your ECs/awards indicate that you have a passion for debate and leadership. This is good because Stanford seems to love applicants who have well-developed passions.

At this point, all you can do is work on those essays. When you sit down to write them, focus not on getting in but rather on representing yourself authentically. The essays that stand out really are those in which a student’s genuine voice is apparent, so discuss something about which you care in a writing style that reflects your own voice. Try to highlight your passions in your essays…they want to get a good idea of how you’d contribute to their campus if admitted.
