Would you choose USC or UCSD?

Which one would you choose, if you were limited to those?

I know that they both have about the same ranking, although USC is ranked a couple seats higher, but the price is dramatically low for instate like me with the UC system.

thanks guys

im in the exact same position. im probably going to end up choosing SD

IM in the same position too, except im live in california. you should try searching, there are MANY threads on ths topic

and i know there are more.

No. But only because UCSD poli sci is incredible.

I LOVE UCSD but I would choose USC. It may cost more and if that's a big factor than go with SD - but there is always finaid. USC has a better social environment, they're a great sport school, in LA, they aren't known for being "socially dead" with SD, they have A LOT of really cool traditions, greatttt alum connections (if you go to school there you're their family for life) - the only big problem with the campus other than the cost is it's neighborhood (kinda bad - especially if you didn't grow up in LA)

All in all, I would choose USC (I wish I had applied) - eventhough they are both great schools.

depends on ur major, i kno that usc poly sci is rated 63rd, which is rated worse than ucr (61)

same question: usc or uscd? but i'm a biomedical/bioengineering major

UCSD rules at biomedical stuff derrrr

USC for the alumni connections, no questions asked!!! (well, for business at least).

also, usc has the better campus (even though theyre like, in compton from what i hear)

but LA is better than SD anyday

i agree with kenneth2005 and that SD is better for biomed stuff but would it be easier to get a higher gpa at USC?

is it really that hard to get a higher gpa at SD? how hard is it?

I am in the same situation. Either USC or SD for chemE. Which one should I choose?

ucsd science (in general) is incredible, but usc i think is more a tighter "family experience". ucsd's social life isn't as "bad" as most people think; it just depends what type of social life you're looking for. usc - wild, hardcore, parties (thursday night drinking!?!?), ucsd - milder social scene, i.e. more so hanging out with friends than hardcore partying
