would you guys consider Chicago to be a "small" school?

it has 5k, similar to princeton and yale

its not supersmall like caltech butt

i mean, umichigan has 26k!!

freaking City U of NY @ Baruch has 13k

soo was its size worth writing about in an essay? (its smallness or whatever the word is)

It’s solidly in the “medium” category, though yes, it is on the smallish side of the medium category in terms of undergraduate enrollment. Try LACs like Haverford for small, and that’s not counting aberrations like Deep Springs.

I think medium is a great way to describe it. On the one hand, many of the required Core classes are limited to less than 20 students. On the other hand, there are lecture courses (chemistry, economics, civilization) that have between 50 and 200 students.

The campus rarely feels cramped. There’s a lot of life between classes, but it doesn’t feel like a sleepless, urban sprawl like, say, the University of Wisconsin-Madison (and perhaps Michigan). One can easily wander around the campus and feel isolated, depending on the time of day.
