just the idea of a MAN in a nursing outfit? My personal status would plummet and and…uh, the thought of responding “yes, I’m a nurse”…it’s just disturbing.

Um… you mean scrubs? As in, the exact same thing that doctors, techs, and basically everyone else in a hospital wears??

My boyfriend is essentially a male nurse for one of the dermatology offices in the med center (technically he’s a surgical assistant but pretty much has the same job description as the nurses in his office…) And he says that most often he gets mistaken for a doctor and not a nurse. Seriously though – girls LOVE seeing guys in scrubs – it definitely won’t make you any less of a man…

In any case, Clout, it sounds to me like you need to first come to grips about whether or not you can really see yourself as a nurse. If you think it’s ridiculous, then how are you going to manage to get through the schooling? And if the idea of telling people that you’re a nurse really is disturbing to you – it might not be the best career path…

its what I want to do…it’s just hard to face reality sometimes and the undesired side effects!

“Undesired side effects”?! What kind of ******s do you hang out with who makes fun of male nurses?

I personally would, not in front of your face though

Well, then let all the ******bags out there laugh away. . . in the meantime, you’ll be attracting all the girls that are glad to have found a guy who’s actually interested in helping people, and making a difference in the world.

I hear male nurses get all the booty at nursing homes

maybe he meant this kind of nursing outfit
