Three babies in Oregon have been named Lucifer in the past decade, according to an article I've read today. You guys think this'll hurt them emotionally during their childhoods?

And, just for conversation, what is the coolest name you could name a kid?

For a girl, I'd probably pick Elizabeth because there are about a dozen choices for nicknames...(Liz, Lizzy, Eliza, Beth...)

No, I would rather be named that than have some contrived name like LaTrena (I still can't believe her mother named her (a member of c/o 2005) that without at least consulting a dictionary.)

Even if Lucifer doesnt have negative connotation, I still wouldnt name my kid that. Coz a kid on this board with the User ID Luficer just died at my school a week ago................

I don't understand what's wrong with the name Lucifer. It's a gorgeous name, and if you're not Christian, or even if you are, I think that you should name your kid whatever the heck you want!

i like classic or not common names...porter, parker, will, and jack for guys, and francesca (frankie) madison, kate, jill, hilary, dylan, and tyler (as a girl)for girls. i love the name sevin for guys...i know its a number but think about it. sevin, it sounds really cool and i changed the spelling. lol

Do you mean Classical as in Roman and Greek or Classical as in AMerican Classical. And Jill, Jack, Will, Hil, Jen and basically all the names you mentioned are common.
