I am very ungrateful. If I ever donate money to a school it would not be to my alma mater :(.

To the school I would have liked to go to…

Well considering the alma mater actually did something for me, the alma mater.

Depends where I actually get my diploma from. If it’s JWU, then HELL NO. If it’s Purdue then I will donate to the athletics program and be part of the John Purdue Club. If I really have money then I will do a very generous donation, it being tax deductible and get club seats or suite seating.

alma matter, why donate to where you wanted to go? if you didnt go? 9 times out of 10 i bet you end up liking the school you go to/ went to

I got into the school I wanted, but if I hadn’t I don’t see any reason I’d ever donate money to them. I’m not going to donate to the school I’m graduating from either, but I will donate to a scholarship fund for that school.

Definitely my alma mater. Donating to your old dream school seems like you can’t get over the past or “what could have been”.

I’m not givin’ no money to a school that rejected me sir.

All of my donations are going to Temple athletics.

My education at Pomona is almost entirely paid for by donations from alum, so if I am fortunate enough to end up in a situation to make similar donations, you can bet I will.

My almar mater most probably… unless I hated that place.
If my dream college invited me over to speak or something, then I might donate to them… I’d be annoyed at them for rejecting me that I wouldn’t really want to give them money though!

lol god. why donate to the athletics department. way to give your hard earned cash to some overpaid coaching staff, while the kids work pretty much as slave labor.

I’m not going to bother humoring you. Anyone who thinks it’s slave labor isn’t worth replying to.

I could be similarly ignorant, and say why donate to colleges at all? After all, they’re pervaded with liberal elitists.

gee. taking it very personally there. It’s an opinion… if it wasn’t worth replying too, then why did you?
Too many athletic departments consist of over paid staff, fail to ensure the graduation of way too many students, and after 4 years they toss them off with some useless degree or no degree at all to make way for the new wave. The more money the athletic department has, the worse the graduation rate of student-athletes. read the research.

Why not give money to college departments? Oh I don’t know, because useful education is important to the world? Because it’s important to upgrade facilities and materials to ensure up-to-date learning in students? But if you want to stick to the whole “liberal elitist” thing, whatevs.

I feel like I’ve already donated money to my alma mater through my overpriced parking ticket when my car got towed…rawr…>_>

Rather and most likely to only donate to my alma mater(s).

Why dont you mind your own business and let me spend my money how I wish. Thanks.

^ LOL. chill out. I hardly want to stick my nose in your business.

Anywho… to answer OPs question - I would donate to my alma mater. Makes no sense to donate anywhere else - they didn’t help me in my educational pursuits. Only reason I see for donating elsewhere, is if they are leading research in an area that is very important to me where my alma mater isn’t apart of.

I’d donate to my alma mater so that i can get season tickets to football and basketball games. Probably to some scholarship fund or something if possible.
