Are any of you guys ever going to donate to your alma maters?

Personally, I don't think I will ever donate to my alma mater. I don't hate my school or anything, but I just express no pride in it.

But, ironically, I have expressed interest in donating to other certain local schools that I have no connection to whatsoever.

You guys?

Well, I’ve transferred a bit so:
I’d donate to SUNY Plattsburgh.
The only thing I’d donate to Fordham is a middle finger.
I’d donate to Columbia, but I doubt they need it.

Well, I wouldn’t donate money to Meijer (that’s a grocery store) or Taco Bell, so why would I do it to the college I go to?

That’s a rhetorical question.

I’ve donated to both my undergrad and graduate schools and have attended fundraisers as well.

I am very proud of Michigan, but I won’t donate any money to the school unless I end up super rich someday, which is highly unlikely. I would sooner donate to struggling k-12 districts or something. Michigan already got 50k from me, I don’t feel I owe them anything. Maybe my attitude will change someday, though.

depends on which school i get into and if i’m happy there. If i love it, i’ll donate.

If I make enough money doing what I love to do and I believe that the college contributed significantly to that, then definitely.

I might throw Cornell a dollar or two annually. Maybe if they’d give me some damn FA, i might be more generous.

when im rich maybe

If I have enough money I might. And by donate, I mean I’d give some money for a scholarship for a low income student.

If I can afford the occasional donation yeah why not… but it won’t be often. They already get enough money from me each year for four years.

I’d prolly earmark the funds for AccessUVA or a specific department.

I’d donate to Purdue even though I had to leave there. Specifically, I’d donate to their athletics department and become a John Purdue Club member  Help the athletic department and get nice seats/suites! Probably would also donate back to my fraternity.

didn’t those dicks not give you enough financial aid?

Yeah whatever. I still love the school though. It is a public OOS for me so can’t ask for much. :-/

If I ever make 150k + a year then I will most definitely CONSIDER donation, otherwise, I’m just another poor kid…

I’ll donate to Stanford when I’m older and actually have money.

^^ Same here

I definitely want to help the amazing financial aid continue for future students

And … I love Stanford : D

I’ll donate to my high school regularly. I’ll only donate to my college if I’m super rich one day and want a building named after me or something.

I would never ever ever donate to my college even if I become extremely wealthy, because the adminstration is corrupt and the money wouldn’t go to students, or to improve facilities, or for advancements in the arts and sciences. the extra money would go for something ■■■■■■■■, like a satellite campus that costs millions in the goddamn middle east…my college would continue its reputation for horrible financial aid despite any extra money.

If i become rich, I would donate directly to charities, or for science research, or for the arts, or a scholarship that goes directly to a student who needs it. I’d never write a check to the college in general though.
