fortify is correct. This thread isn’t exactly for me. I’m currently involved with a lot of kids who are interested to enroll in US schools and I’m sort of inquiring these for them. This also serves as an opinion poll, though in an insignificant way. lol. However, fortify, I did not go to Oxford undergrad. I never even applied there, for undergrad. I went to Oxford’s fiercest rival uni. ;)

If I could have afforded Chicago, I would have gone. Assuming I got off the waitlist of course, though here we’re assuming that I got in straight up.

I don’t regret coming here, though.

Probably, it’d be nice to stay in Cali. I would consider Chicago though.

seanml9–those rankings you’ve pointed to are for graduate schools, not undergrad.

^graduate rankings still are somewhat relevant when looking at undergrad. They don’t correspond 100%, but they are still very relevant.

I turned down Vandy for Berk… didn’t apply those other places.

When you’re talking department-specific rankings, graduate rankings are most relevant.
I think ratings of “undergraduate teaching” just don’t apply to ranking departments, because it really depends on the professor, and what should be rated is the caliber of academics and facilities, which correspond to graduate things.

Those who want to look at the other factors should look at general undergraduate ratings, not for specialized ones.

Computer science, yes. Berkeley CS is just better.
