a good message for bill martin... learn your lesson from app state.. nothing good can come out of a game like this

It filled up pretty quickly.

The reason we’re playing Delaware State is, just so you know, most probably because RR is friends with Delaware State’s head coach. DS is not used to getting this much money off of one game. Because of that, there’s an advantage in it for us, too.

it still looks really empty to me

and no… the reason we are playing DSU is because we started our planning late… big time teams want home and home… mac teams all filled up their schedules already and we are left with FCS… and the fans get punished for this… at least app state was good… this is like playing a high school team… hell, go schedule grand valley state or something

lol grand valley state

Are you kidding?

It is not the fault of Rodriguez that we weren’t in a position to take a home and home with a MAC team…

You can’t ignore the financial aspects, nor is there only one reason.

Besides, some fans like to watch their team steamroll over another team.

Delaware St. is god-awful, but is much better than GVSU.

Isn’t this a long weekend for U of M? So lots of students at home or visiting other schools…

the game got a lot more exciting with the 5th string in…much more fun…first you have TD COX… then the Coner has a TD pass.

I know a ton of people who went home, or to other colleges to party, and I stayed home to study. I feel like the general sentiment among my circle was that there are far better things to do with a long weekend than see delaware state.

Michigan needed a cake walk game like this. It gave a lot of underclassmen a chance to play and it was a nice breather between tough Big Ten games.

This game was much needed. Forcier, Minor and Brown all benefited big time for this break. Molk also needed an extra week. Hopefully, he will be at 100% against Penn State. We really play much better with him at Center. The next 5 games are going to be very physical and Michigan needs to win at least 3 of those if it wants to have an acceptable season. To win three of the remaining five games, we need a healthy team.

This said, I agree with Bearcats. Michigan needs to schedule games against two out-of-conference power houses each year, not just one (Notre Dame). We should follow in OSU’s footsteps and add teams like Alabama, Texas, USC etc… to our non-conference schedule.

"We should follow in OSU’s footsteps and add teams like Alabama, Texas, USC etc… to our non-conference schedule. "

That’s one tough non-conference game that tUOS is playing each year, not two Alexandre. They only started doing this a few years ago. They used to only play cupcakes in the pre-conference games. Michigan more times than not have scheduled at least one other decent team besides ND in most years.

True 'novi, but I would still like Michigan to play a tougher non-conference schedule. Notre Dame + three creampuffs does not do it for we. Notre Dame is a good tradition that I will always wish to have on our schedule, but adding another top program every two years would be great. I would love to see Michigan have regular season games vs Alabama, LSU, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, USC etc…

OSU also plays crappy schools like Youngstown St (or whatever they’re called) and Ohio. I’d like ND, a semi-good school (ASU, Miss St., Pitt, etc.), and 2 MAC teams (or equivalent).

did I see something different than everyone else? The team we played isnt Youngstown State or Temple or anything close to it… it’s more like a high school team. I have never seen a team this bad.

bearcats, Michigan’s 4th team put 30 points on DSU. As such, I would agree that they are no better than a High School team.

Youngstown State is in the FCS too. So is Montana St, who MSU played, and Appalachain St. They are terrible, but they’re better than any HS team in the country.

There are difference between FCS teams… just like there is difference between florida and Florida International, both FBS teams. It is one thing to schedule a competitive FCS school like app state, it is another thing to schedule a dead meat like the team we played this past weekend. If you cant see the huge quality difference between DSU and Youngstown St or Montana St, you are blind.

We’re 4-2 and 3-0 in conference, and most likely reaching a Bowl Game at this point, thank you very much…
