Wow!

Yeah, I was advising at Sid... I am not going to try to make it sound like throwing buckets of water and shooting squirt guns was the brightest thing to do in their own elevators, but to be fair, the majority of the ones who threw the water at the Brownies in our elevators were freshmen and didn't really know any better.

Just to give more of a background on that night rather than just saying that Sid threw buckets of water in their own elevators I think you have to point out that Brownies were occupying the elevators at the time and completely preventing any of the sidizens from using them (I actually did think it was a clever jack and am in no way angry about it). So a bunch of people on second (I think) thought it would be funny to at least wet the people who were at "Club Sid."

I didn't think that I would fit in much at Sid, but I ended up absolutely loving my time there. The Orc raid was by far my favorite part of O-week and my group won the scavenger hunt so all in all it was a fun time.

Torrestowers, why didn't you think you would fit in at Sid??
Just curious, because I'm a parent of a junior Sidizen (who loves it) and don't hear THAT much about things ;-)..probably why I'm always on this site! I do hear some things, but always hungry for more info...

I think we termed that jack "club S***", a word that is a personal favorite of us "Brownies."

Aren't Sid's elevators on the unjackable list?

Technically, yes, but we didn't really harm the elevators themselves, we just occupied them. Plus we had the jack approved by their jack coordinator, so they can't complain.

I didn't get a chance to read the sign that y'all posted because there were so many brownies in the lobby and in front of the sign.

Yeah the elevators are unjackable but I think it was given the "okay" by one of the coordinators, but I still don't see how that over rules it being unjackable.

I didn't that I was going to fit in because I am a non-drinker and Sid is kinda known for enjoying partying, but O-week is dry so I didn't feel like I was being left out of anything (not that I normally do anyway). I mean there are definitely Sidizens that don't drink but I think a lot of the advisors were more of the partying variety (but all of us understand the importance of never making the freshmen feel like there is any pressure at all to drink at Rice).

Whoa, whoa, whoa, you are in Lovett and you were concerned with Sid's taste for alcohol? Huh??

I never said I fit in at Lovett either ;)

Thanks for the answer. That's funny, because my son also doesn't drink ...yet still likes it a lot.
