@actkid Congrats! My D committed yesterday too! She was at the Athena overnight on April 11 and attended the Admitted Students Day on April 12. Very happy – WPI is a perfect fit for her.
I got accepted. My major is business. How is WPI’s business program?
@OCNYmom: I feel the same way – it seems to be a perfect fit for my kid! Seems like EVERYONE attended on the 12th, although it was pretty well attended on the 19th too. My D had to miss the Athena program, but she knows a current WPI freshman so she was able to spend time hanging out in the dorm the evening before the day program on the 19th. She’s very much looking forward to fall!
@cameo43 @OCNYmom Thanks! Congrats to you too! My husband and son attended the Admitted Students Day on April 19th. This was the ONLY school out of the 11 he applied to that I didn’t see because I had to work. Can’t believe it was the one! LOL They both just really loved it and felt it was a great fit for him. I just wish it were a little closer.
Program requires fairly heavy quant but prepares students well. New concentrations available this upcoming fall. My son will be studying business also.
S also just committed to WPI and had attended the admitted students day with husband on the 4th. He plans to have a dual CS/Math major and will play in the Marching band. During the initial college tours, WPI was the first and only school that he came back from and said “I love that school”. We are now 9 months and many schools later with much weeping and gnashing of teeth along the way. At the end he had a very difficult decision between WPI and one other top pick, but he is confident in his decision and I couldn’t be more excited for him.
Big Congrats to all other students/parents accepting offers. The beginning of a new chapter!
Can’t wait to meet you all with our S on move in day. We will be coming from California so any advance clothes shopping advice for S would be much appreciated
Given the size of the triple dorm rooms we saw, I’d suggest packing light, moving in and then ordering clothes online or shopping when you get there for the fall/winter stuff. Warm jacket, sweater, boots, etc. as winters can be cold and snowy and slushy. I can’t imagine how the girls (many of whom are in quad rooms) manage to store all their clothes in those rooms!
Hey everyone! I need urgent help. I can’t seem to login to the admissions portal. I’ve tried all the links including admissions.wpi.edu/status and https://www15.student-1.com/StudentAppStatusWPIUAdm/loginUI.aspx but a error keeps popping up. I wanted to accept the offer. Am I too late?
If possible please email me at ahmadhassan-1@live.com.
Thank you
@cdvsdvsdvs Definitely not too late! Use this link https://wpi.edu.185r.net/survey/index.php?id=118&utm_source=redirector&utm_medium=enroll&utm_campaign=short_url
@cdvsdvsdvs You are not too late. You should have until 11:59 on the 1st. Having said that I was just able to make the https://www15.student-1.com/StudentAppStatusWPIUAdm/loginUI.aspx link work. It may be that there are load issues on the site. If you can let us all know that you have been able to register and don’t forget to pay the $500. After you have done that then you should be able to log back into your portal and see a new letter that starts like “Congratulations on your decision to join WPI’s World Class of 2021…”
If none of this works then I suggest you send an email right away to admissions with your full information and student ID and explain your situation and also try calling and leaving a message and then call back early am Mon. You might also try to log in using a different web browser or computer. Just some thoughts
Thank you everyone
I was able to login after paying the 500 deposit.
The portal shows the scholarship I will receive but not the total cost. Know where I can find that out?
@cdvsdvsdvs Where/how are you able to find the scholarship info? I can’t seem to do that.
I just logged in at https://www15.student-1.com/StudentAppStatusWPIUAdm/loginUI.aspx
And at the bottom there were pop up links.
Weird, not seeing that. Oh well, thanks.
@hopeyhippie you can login in here to see your financial aid and also the estimated total cost of attendance before the reduction for whatever aid you have received.
Thanks, but nothing there either. I think I have figured it out. DS was given a scholarship (he was notified of it by a letter sent snail mail), but we didn’t file a financial aid application. So I assume that is why it isn’t on the portal.
Congrats to all who have accepted their admissions offers! My daughter is so excited. Even the thought of a crowded triple or quad can’t dampen her spirits. I guess that’s when you’re comfortable your kid has made the right decision lol.
