My son is down to either WPI or Stevens and can’t decide…we’ve been to both - he will be studying computer science- any help would be greatly appreciated
Hoboken is a great town. Safe, great food, nice to walk around. An incredible concentration of bars. Unfortunately, Stevens is a social buzz kill. I live in NJ and know many that have gone to Stevens. If only academics are important Stevens is fine but your son needs to know that 3/4 students are male and studying engineering.
I guess WPI has similar gender issues, not as extreme, but Worcester has several schools like Holy Cross, Clark and Assumption close by.
The WPI project based curriculum and the ability to study abroad for one of these projects are what makes this school special. And while the gender imbalance exists (to a lesser extent than Stevens) the Student Goverment Officers are all women now.
That being said being close to NYC in Hoboken is better than Worcester.
