WPI vs. Suny Stony Brook for Computer Science

I am trying to decide between Stony Brook and WPI for a computer science major. If anyone has experience with either of these two departments, can you please weigh in? With aid, WPI would be 22,600 a year more than Stony Brook. I wouldn't have to take out a substantial amount in loans for WPI, but it would still cost significantly more than Stony Brook. SBU is much bigger, of course, but I will be in the University Scholars program as well as the CS Honors program. What are your thoughts on the quality of the two programs as well as the schools in general? Thank you.

CS Honors+ University Scholars at Stony Brook - unless you really worry about having no friends around on weekends and you think that’s worth $22,600 a year.

You will get a fine education at either place. The biggest knock on SB is that it is kind of a suitcase school where a lot of people go home on weekends. But given the price difference and acceptance into the honors program, I’d go to SB and stay away from taking out a “substantial amount” of loans…
