I have writer's block right now, and it sucks. Sucks because I have a paper due on Thursday, and I haven't started.

Do you guys ever get writer's block, and what do you do to overcome it?

I hardly write, but when I do, I don't get it - I just write.

Maybe it's because I ave no concern for word choice, grammar, spelling, and etc...I just write whatever, even if it's making every single grammatical error possible or if it's like short choppy 5th grade writing.

I read. depending on what i'm wanting to write, that's what i read. when reading, i then keep in mind how i would do it better if i were writing it, or where my opinion differs w/ the authors, and then i start on my essay/poem/story/article/whatever

I have to write in bits and pieces. I can't write a paper at once. It's a really slow process. I'll hav ehte computer on all day on a Saturday and while I'll do other tihngs I'll come back write another paragraph and then do what I was earlier doing.

For some things the papers just come, and others I hav eto work my butt off to get a decent paper.

I just write whatever on a piece of paper and clipboard. Just the entire essay, no matter how ridiculous it sounds. I put blanks and lines where I need outside info and just fill out the frame. Then I go home, find info, fix it up, and there it is...

It gets harder to do this the more important the essay is...

they tell you to just start writing.. i like to sit and plan out what i'll say..it makes writing much easier.
