I took writing 20 first semester. I think Pratt designates which you take so it's equal enrollment both semesters.

As for the OP, I'd definitely lean more towards the professor. If you hate the topic, the professor is not worth it. But I'd find 4-5 courses you have some interest in, and then pick the one with the best professor ratings. I had Albers, who unfortuately is not teaching it next semester, because he was a great teacher for writing 20. I found the synopsis interesting but it didn't blow me away, but when i actually got to class I really got into it. If you do see a topic that blows you away, then by all means try to get that class.

Well I guess that's cleared up. I always wondered why no one else mentioned this and I was never able to find anything in the official policies.

For a Writing 20 class, has anyone taken Arguing for Revolution with Susanne Hall? I'm looking for feedback on both her and the class, but there is nothing listed at ratemyprofessor.com. I would like to take this class just because I enjoy history and my schedule isn't very accomodating.

My advice on the Writing 20 classes is take a look at what your registration window is!

If you have first, you probably want to take Writing 20 first semster.
2nd window.. either semester is fine.
3rd window.. wait till second semester.
