*( josephine baker rose from as a dancer , then using )her resources to adopt many needy children of all nationalities.
A) as it is
B) josephine baker , having risen to fame as a dancer , used
the correct ANSWER is B…but i want to know why A is wrong??
A is wrong for many reasons, but the stuff after the comma lacks a verb (“using” is a participle or gerund).
PlZ… @marvin100
can you give me more explaination or mention some of those many reasons that make A wrong
“Rose from as” is not a phrase that one hears in proper English. “Using” in the sentence is a gerund when it should be conjugated as “used” (verb).
Neno, the tests in the blue book come with answer explanations.Solve those tests first.
