writing question-level 5

The valuable stringed (instruments in) this display, (all more than) 300 years old, were carefully crafted (by artisans famous) in their day but (long since forgotten). (No error)

why is "in" correct, shouldnt it read intruments "on" display rather than in display?

It reads “in THIS display”; if it were simply “in display”, then it would need to be changed to “on display”.
