Do the writing supplements for colleges change every year ?
As far as I know, it depends on the school, and sometimes, the length of the essay (I venture to say that shorter responses are more likely to change than the longer essays). I know that UChicago’s supplements change, but most schools’ do not, or they stay within a few general themes. Also, even if a general-type essay prompt is not used at one school (e.g. biggest challenge, dealing with failure, why major), it may answer the prompt for another school.
@OnMyWay2013 Do you know when colleges release supplement prompts? The Common App essay prompts are out already but I haven’t heard anything about supplements yet.
I’m not 100% sure, but I believe it’s in early August?
