What does it mean at your school to get "written up"?
And yes, I know this is CC, but has it ever happened to anyone?

Never! But if I'm tardy to my business class one more time, I could get a detention!!hmmmmmmmmm.

We have it here, but none of the teachers actually even do, so I'm not honestly sure what it implys.

Haha, they always threaten it, and talk about it, but it's generally really some elusive myththat only the delinquents know about.

Until some teacher picks you as an example for talking in class that is...........................

written up at my school means that they send in a form thing that says you were doing w/e. the vp comes and visits you some time later that day/the next day. if they decide you did something wrong, you get a detention/suspension/w.e if they dont then youre good to go. ive gotten the vp to visit me, but ive never gotten in any real trouble, even when i probably should have...

^ I'm guessing you have some intersting stories.

At my school written up means detention. They hand out detentions like candy. I was once kneeling on the floor to get a book out of my bottom locker and got a detention. I jay walked and got detention. At my friend's school nearby, they get detentions for picking wedgies in public.

^ Uh, wow. Are these public or private schools?

^Private Catholic, but not like parochial, like an idependent school that happens to be Catholic. It's really unfair too because I'll get detentions for stupid stuff like that, but there's this girl with Asperger's in my class and people are so blatantly mean to her and nobody does anything about it. I hate schools that have their priorities screwed up.

^ That's horrible.

Written up means a referral at our school.

I was written up freshman year, but had my Eng I & Spanish I teachers fight and get it removed off my record. It was nice, because I didn't deserve the referral. So I'm cool. Not going to get in what is was long story and I have two very important midterms tomorrow - lol, but it was pretty bad and wouldn't have looked nice for colleges.

Colleges can see them??

yeah, i think detentions and ISSes and things go on your transcripts

haha i had ISS freshman year for going out to lunch.
and ISS sophomore year for drawing on a test.... i still don't really understand that one and neither does my guidance counselor. (my english teacher found it funny so she decided to send down a 4th grade reading packet for me to complete... she graded it)

i've had PLENTY of detentions (my brother takes forever to get ready, and i thought i was the gay one)

it doesn't go on my transcript though, my counselor said they were minor things that schools wouldn't even really care about.

Hmmm....Awesome. I love when stupid things go on my transcript.

Well, in 9th grade I walked out of class because I wasn't allowed to use the restroom.

In 10th grade I was send out because I was talking about peeps (yes, the marshmallow candies) while the teacher was talking.

In 11th grade I was sent out because I was late. The teacher said, "You're late," I replied, "REALLY!?"

Didn't get in trouble for any.

My school uses different terminology, but it's quite simple.

You receive a "demerit" for every minor infraction. For every 3 demerits (they reset every trimester), you get a "referral". If you get 2 referrals, you get to have a chat with an administrator. Once you have 12 demerits, 4 referrals, and 2 chats, you get recommended to be suspended.
If you acheive suspension twice in one academic year, you get recommended to be expelled, which goes on yor transcript.

For this trimester, I have 2 demerits so far. Grr.
1. Leaving my fork on my tray when I disposed of it at lunch
2. Sliding my hand along the lockers while walking down the hall

^ *** that is ridiculous.

seriously. ive been 20 min late for class and not gotten in trouble before, do you go to public or private? the sliding your hands on the lockers thing is especially ridiculous

Regular public school.

I think the teacher that caught me thought that I was trying to knock loose locks off the lockers. So it's somewhat understandable.
