Wrote wrong phone number on test day: will fixing my mismatched info facilitate my scores?

I messed up during registration: I never answer any phone calls so I put down my dad's phone number for registration. I completely forgot about this during the ACT and put my phone number down instead. My score hasn't come in yet from the September ACT. I fixed the information on my ACT account by putting in my phone number, so does this mean my scores should come in tomorrow? Should I not have done this and just waited for the ACT to deal with it? Does anyone have experience with this?

I am not worrying right now because I'm pretty confident that the ACT people will fact check with my school or something and see that it is my number and I wasn't cheating, but I just want to make sure that I'm correct in not worrying. If anything like this has happened to anyone else, I would like to hear your stories. How long did it take you to get your scores? Was there any trouble in getting them or was it only the length? Did any of you change your information afterwards when you realized you messed up? Did that do anything?

They don’t care about your phone number-- people change phone numbers all the time. The only number that cannot be changed on your acct is your DOB. Trying to change that is a red flag for cheating.

@GMTplus7 so you don’t think that was the reason for my delayed scores? I just assumed that it was since other people from my testing center have gotten their scores and I have not. Or do you not think that changing my phone number is important but it was the reason for my delayed scores?

If u are so anxious, then just call them. Seems like young people nowadays have forgotten how to make voice calls.

I’m not anxious, like I said, I have confidence that the ACT people will figure everything out. I was just confused when you said “they don’t care about your phone number” because I weren’t sure what you were relating this to.
