If you were to withdraw from a class how bad would that look to medical schools? I recently changed majors and one of the classes has a horrible teacher and a horrible TA teaching the lab(the lab doesnt count for any credit either). The class is intro to computer science II which is java programming. I saw some people say its okay as long as you come back and get a better grade in the class you withdrew from but i dont have any intention of doing that

A single W in a non-major class won’t have much effect.

But if you

-- demonstrate a pattern of repeated Ws (more than 3 Ws total in your entire undergrad academic career)

-- withdraw from the same class more than once

-- take more than 1 W in a single semester wthout a valid medical excuse

-- drop down to less than full time student status (can also seriously affect your FA)

-- are failing the course at the time of withdrawal (WF counts the same as F in your AMCAS GPA calculations)

then you have a problem.

entomom,

you could just close this thread right now. Nothing more needs to be said.
