Wustl....no essay?

Hi, i was looking on washington university in st louis' "common application", and when i went to the offsite supplement, i couldn't find any essay. this is suspicious as all the other colleges i've applied to require supplement essays.

am i missing something here?

there is no 2nd essay for WUSTL if i remember it right (maybe except for applying to scholarship or some specific programs)

It's strange. Duke has no second essay required either. And these are really selective schools!

neither does vandy, wesleyan, american, dartmouth, colorado college, uchicago, harvard!

yeah! less work!

Uh... UChicago does have an essay. That's like... the biggest feature of applying to them.

Harvard? Really? Maybe it's worth studying for another SATII.

Umm...UChicago has an essay (a very unique one).

Chicago has 3 essays. The distinctive Chicago essay; a "why Chicago" essay; and an optional essay about one's favorite performers, media, etc. But the optional essay is strongly recommended.

Bump. is there any place where i can confirm wustl's lack of essay

Seeing that no one has confirmed that it does i think you can confirm it here.

Duke has an essay...for engineering anyways. Harvard's additional essay is optional.

WashU doesn't have a traditional supplement, but rather they have a pre-application supplement that simply requires you to fill out person information. They encourage you to send that in as early as possible, though you are allowed to send it in with the commonapp application as well.

Here's the site with directions on how to apply:
<a href="http://admissions.wustl.edu/apply/freshmen/Pages/default.aspx%5B/url%5D">http://admissions.wustl.edu/apply/freshmen/Pages/default.aspx</a></p>

There are no extra essays at WUSTL, unless you are applying for merit scholarships (which is a separate application)

duke's essays are optional
