WUSTL - Please help me out.

Hello, so I’m applying to WUSTL (Washington University, St. Louis) as an intended polsci major. I’m applying for the Lien, Rodriguez, Ervin and Entrepreneurial Scholarships, three of which are full tuition scholarships. My question is, if I get a certain amount of financial assistance from scholarships, am I eligible to get the rest covered in the form of need-based financial aid? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you do have knowledge on the subject, could you educate me on how generous WUSTL is with aid for international students? Thanks!

The Entrepreneurial scholarships are $3000, which will not even make a dent in the $72k COA

As part of their admissions for international students you must show proof of financial support (this means that your ability to pay will be a factor in the admissions process as aid is awarded on a case by case basis)

Proof of Financial Support

In compliance with Department of Homeland Security (DHS) regulations, Washington University requires all admitted international students to submit detailed financial information statements before a Form I-20 can be processed, including:

Statements of amounts and sources of funds available for their educational expenses in the United States.
Declaration and Certification of Finances

Certified bank statements in English verifying that they have sufficient funds available to finance their first year’s tuition and living expenses and that a comparable amount of money will be available for every subsequent year of study.

Some embassy officials verify students’ financial certification. Students should obtain two original copies (with original signatures) of both the sponsor’s letter and the bank letter. Retain a copy for obtaining a visa.

Financial aid awards may be deducted from the amount to be certified.

How much do your parents make? How much can they pay for you to attend Wash U? It is very unlikely that you will receive $75K or $300k in aid to attend Wash U?
