wut r good subject tests scores...

...for people trying to get a merit scholarship? Haven't taken the real SAT yet but got back an sat subject test score of 700 for chem. Should i retake it? or does that look good for scholarship viewing?

I got a 700 on chem, I got a merit scholarship with National Merit though.

i got an 800 on chem and i only got a trojan scholarship

I got an 800 on Chem and 790 on Math IIC, but I got the Presidential scholarship because I'm an RHPer with a high PSAT score (at this point, I'm not yet a National Merit Finalist): 233.

Hey, I got the exact same score on Math IIC (790)!

I think that the subject test scores really have very little effect on your chances of getting a scholarship. More important perhaps are your essays and recommendations. Good luck!

intelliot, I have to disagree. If you look around the board, you'll notice that just about everyone who received ANY scholarship money from USC had very high scores on almost all their tests, whether it be SAT, PSAT, SAT IIs, etc. I'm certain that my essays and recommendations were good enough to compete, they were literally the same ones I used for all my applications for admissions and scholarships. I didn't get rejected from a single school I applied to and I did pick up some scholarships from other schools I applied to. But the downside to my app was my test scores: My SAT was 760M, 570V. I forgot my SAT II scores, but they all were in the range of 650-720. So I believe it's safe enough to conclude that test scores have a major impact in the USC scholarship apps.

Yeah....I got an 800 on IIc and 710 Writing (and 1500 SAT I)....but only 670 on USH (....I know, "only" 670)....and I got pres....I think that the scholarschips have a lot to do with test scores because USC is trying (blatantly) to raise its average test scores by "buying" kids with these good scores...

hey, I got a 680 on chem (took it my sophomore year) and I got a Trojan Scholarship. 720 on math IC, a pititul 630 on US history, and a shameful 690 on writing. Cumulative SATI score: 1430. So... yeah. I don't know...

how much is presidental? trojan? the only one i remember is the full ride one trustee lol

Pres is half tuition... (and Trustee is full tuition...not "full ride"...)

800 IIC, 800 Writing. I got a Trustee
