Hi,
I'm going to be applying as a transfer student for fall 2015. I'm applying after a gap in education and it's been quite a few years since I graduated high school.

I'm a bit confused on how to obtain my high school transcripts. Would getting duplicates of my X and XII mark list from http://www.cisce.org/ suffice? Or do I need anything done from my high school? I highly doubt anyone from my school would have applied to the US before so I am not sure if they would know what a 'transcript' means. Also, I doubt the new principal/management there would recognize me if I do go there.

Can any of you shed some light on how best to approach my situation and what exactly I need to ask from my school, if I do need to go there?

How much of college education do you have? How long has it been since you left high school?

Usually, you can file your ISC certificate, and provide college transcripts in order to apply as a transfer student. You could also try to see if your high school will issue you a transcript for your high school years

For a high school transcript, the colleges in US expect 4 years of grades from your high school - 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th.

I’m 8 years out of high school. I have about 108 college credits (Though I guess not everything would be transferable, if at all)
I also have two years work experience in a relevant field. I’d be using the essays to explain my education gap. I’ve also taken SAT. I contacted one of the colleges I’d be applying to, and they asked only for X and XII. I’m not sure where I’m supposed to get those either. CICSE.org requires an authorization letter before you can register and request for mark lists. I’d probably need 10-12 copies of the mark list/transcript. Where should I approach for those?

I figured out a way to get a statement of marks from the ISC site. However, in my High School and College records my first name is followed by my initials. Whereas, on my Passport and SAT hall ticket, it is first name followed by my full Surname. Would that be an issue?

I’ve got verified ISC and ICSE copies from the board in envelopes (one of which can be seen in the below images). Will this do for ‘X and XII Transcripts inside a sealed envelope’ document requirement? Somebody please reply.

Can someone who has done ISC/ICSE please respond on how they got their X and XII transcripts? I’m having a tough time getting the board to send 10 verified copies in separate envelopes. They don’t really seem to understand the requirement. Somebody please help. Thanks.

I am in the same boat as you (planning for fall 2015, transfer student who’s been out of school for quite some time). Hit me up and we can bounce off information of each other!

Hey I am currently doing ISC and did my tenth in ICSE. Only Purdue had asked me for a hardcopy of my ICSE mark sheet. What you do is, ask your school to get, say about ten copies of your ISC and ICSE mark sheet. Ask them to put them all in separate envelopes. Then tell them to attest it by putting the school seal and the signature of the head of the school. Now you can send these sealed envelops to the universities.

Wow! I think this is going to be a very hectic job collecting all the attested copies. It’s been long since I’ve left the school. I have the original marksheets, is it ok if I scan it and send it to them or do they specifically need the attested copies done by school (SSC) and college (HSC)?
Anyone got any idea if attested copy mailed by the ISC board inside of envelopes (which have their contents stapled to them instead of bearing any seals) satisfy transcript requirements?
I have already sent such copies to Penn State and UMass. Haven’t heard anything yet.
@BlueBeans32 good to see someone else in the same boat as me. How you dealing with the transcript stuff?
@fbhsfhthj Do they need both the mark lists and the pass certificates? Are photocopies of both front and the back of the PC/mark lists required? Also can I staple all of them together? Should the school’s seal be on the photocopied part or below it?
Yes I think they require both the mark lists and the pass certificate and you need to take photocopies of both the front and backside. You need to put the mark sheet in your school’s envelope and then get the seal on the envelope. You can always email the universities ask them if they both the mark sheet and the pass certificate.
