<p>I agree about The Poisonwood Bible. It's told from the perspective of five women and I can imagine that a girl would really enjoy it (I'm a guy).</p>
<p>has she considered poetry? or creative non-fiction? for nonfiction, david sedaris is always fantastic for everyone. for poetry, crush by richard siken is really amazing, romantic, and approachable. tony hoagland also writes wonderful, approachable poetry, and as a bit of a classic, ee cummings</p>

my favorite jodi picoult is "19 minutes."
Dean Koontz, James Patterson, and "The Glass Castle" by Jeannette Walls are some favorites. Maybe she would like these.
Michael Crichton is also always a winner, especially if she delves into sci-fi.</p>
