12:30 AM, still haven't gotten past the first page of my article. Whole project is due thursday.

Brah, it’s only Tuesday. You have until Thursday. Why do today when you can put off until tomorrow?

cause its a group project :(

Because you realize that everything you do these 4 years is pointless so you don’t feel like wasting your time

its gotten to the point where i cant even do anything, not even for my easiest classes

Ughhhh literally 4 days of school left and i cant do squat

Brain says go to sleep
Homework says stay awake
Body says sit there and do nothing

It’s probably time for bed when it starts talking to you.

wait do u smell that through the computer

^^Either you’re joking or VERY sleep deprived… I think this might be a case of senioritis/ early onset senioritis (depending on which grade level you are in).

My tips:
- get some sleep. it sounds counterproductive, but you probably really need it.
- find something to motivate yourself. this could be anything from your grade to groupmates being mad at you for not doing your part.
- make a plan of action including what you are going to do and when. break the project into smaller steps to give yourself a sense of accomplishment when you can cross something off your list.

Good luck!

Ask me later.

Two reasons:

1) You give no f**cks whatsoever and the repercussions of procrastinating (or just flat out not doing your work) do not bother or worry you.

Or

2) Deep down you’re confident that despite the procrastination, you’ll get it done somehow.

So, Torveaux…why can’t he stop procrastinating?

Yakisoba’s a he? I was never really sure…

I think she’s a she.

Embrace procrastination. Control it. Make it your ally.

Wait, no way. Yakisoba is definitely a he.

You guys will never find out…

…and here I am again, getting close to midnight

Yakisoha is a he she.

I initially thought that Yakisoba was a she, but I don’t even know.

Seriously, some people (myself included) work better under pressure. I am sure there is something about brain chemicals or biology somehow that makes it all make sense, but it just is. What I have been doing is tricking myself into earlier deadlines. Think of it like setting your watch a few minutes ahead. So you get a project that is due on Thursday? Write it down as due on Tuesday. At this point, it is who you are. Find a way to work with it, or you may spend a lot of time applying for new jobs.

I agree, but I think the main problem with procrastinating is that it wastes time. If people did something productive while they were procrastinating (i.e., something that actually made them happy and not just something they were doing to avoid work), then it would be okay, but I do things when I’m procrastinating that I wouldn’t do if I weren’t procrastinating (spending hours on the Internet reading mindless things). It consumes a lot of my life.
