I guess I'm asking a biased audience.... but as a visitor from the Harvard forum, to me it seems like all of you are bonding much better and much more congenial.. at the harvard site it's all just compete compete compete... is that gonna be what it's like at college??

Maybe tales of massacre '03 have been humbling and more on this forum consider themselves "morituri."

Realise this, 80%-75% of all Early candidates on both boards will probably be deferred or rejected. In regular decision time, these candidates will have to come togeather. Lets all start bonding now and sing Kum-by-a.

hey everyone! visit harvard's forum! i started a thread for you guys!

yup, pretty much. we're all fun-loving and personable at Yale. at Harvard, they're cutthroat and selfish.

Hey, lets not name call our future lesser sister institution. :P

I don't know about "cuthroat and selfish," but I did feel a palpable vibe at Harvard that didn't quite settle with me. I felt the camaraderie at Yale was much stronger and more welcoming. But then, some people prefer that competitive atmoshphere, and each school will have great people and not-so-great people. To each his own.

The daughter of a friend of my mom's was looking at Harvard a couple years ago. They were driving around, looking for the admissions office (or something), and paused next to a girl of about 20 years who was wearing a bookbag. They assumed she was a student and asked, "Excuse me, but by any chance could you tell us where to find <whatever building="" it="" was="" they="" were="" hunting="" down="">?" The girl glared at them and said, "I most certainly can NOT." Then walked away.</whatever>

Just a, er, fun? story. I'm sure people here have one for every school out there, of course. :)

wow, that story sucked

I love Yale, but I love Harvard too...after all, Conan O'Brien went there...

all the snobby, uptight smart kids go to Harvard. all the cool, laid-back smart kids go to Yale.

:)

Ivyleaguechamp, you need to stop being such a jerk to some people on this board.

Past Experiences:

(A) New Haven didn't appeal to me.
(B) The professors who attended the "prospect" dinner didn't seem welcoming; I almost got frostbite from some of the people at the restaurant.

i'm a straight shooter
