In google type " yale portal " and login to yale admission status portal
…see what is coming. For me that portal is coming fine …
You guys are really just going to drive yourselves nuts with portals and trying to skirt the system. You will know by the end of the week. Relax. There are no shortcuts, no accidental release back doors. This happens every year and it never really amounts to much because some that thought they knew their outcomes actually did not. Just be patient and wait it out. Talk about something that you hope to accomplish once you start whatever college you attend in the fall. Where do you see yourself 5 years from now? Do you have dates for prom? When do you graduate etc.
Most of you will not be thrilled with the outcome and you are only making this week longer and harder by overthinking. Just breathe for now.
I 2nd that post @Memmsmom. I would also recommend you guys continue researching your schools and come up with a visitation plan for colleges a)you’ve been accepted to and b)possible upcoming ones. I can’t stress enough how difficult the decision can be to make in one month’s time. My son had less than an hour remaining when he finally clicked that button!
You all need to calm down with the talk of links and back door ways of finding out your status. I am sure whatever glitch may have been there in the past has been fixed. When the portal goes live at 5:00 on March 30th, you will be able to log in and access your decision. I am excitedly waiting to see if any of my interviewees got accepted. So we’re all playing a waiting game.
@Tperry1982 Do you get sent an email or anything after decisions are released? I want to write my interviewer a hand-written thank-you regardless of whether I am admitted or not, but it would be cool to inform him via hand-written letter (I think). Also, do you think that a thank-you gift would be appropriate? We spoke for almost three hours, and we’ve kept in sporadic touch since.
I’m pretty sure interviewers get notified about their interviewees’ admission statuses, although sometimes it’s one or two days after decisions are released for students so that interviewers don’t accidentally email “CONGRATS” to students who haven’t checked their portals yet.
Anyone received an email from Yale regarding the date and time of decision release (aka 30st 5pm EST)? All the other ivies have sent that email with the exception of H and Y.
@studioghibli H and Y don’t send those.
Another thing you guys will want to know is that because everyone is trying to access the server at once, there will more than likely be a delay in receiving your outcome. I say this for those that think they will quickly check between classes. My daughter did not actually get through until around 5:30pm est and it was released at 5. This was the same with all of the Ivy schools she applied to. You will want to plan accordingly because of this if you have something else going on at that time.
Alumni interviewers are usually notified a day after Ivy Day. We have a portal to login and see the results for our interviewees. We are given this set of instructions: http://asc.yale.edu/sites/default/files/files/Post-Decision_BestPractices(1).pdf (Copy and paste, clicking doesn’t work)
@CheckMyBrain11 - we do all of our work with admissions interview work via a portal/website. It is how we get our initial contact information about applicants and where we upload our reports. A couple of days after decisions are released, the results are uploaded to our portal. At that time, we can call those that are admitted and congratulate them and of course begin the wonderful task of getting them to commit to Yale. We do not contact those that have not been admitted as we are sure that they are being contacted by the schools that they have been admitted to in the same manner. Hope this helps.
I never got contacted for an interview. I’ve checked and checked my email, home phone, cell phone, for junk mail, missed calls, etc. and NOTHING came. Does anyone know if this automatically takes me out of the applicant pool?
@Georgia101 - not getting an interview will NOT affect your admissions chances in any way.
Lots of students gets admitted without interviews. I was one.
Good luck everyone for tomorrow!
Are they gonna update the portal at 00:00 tonight/tomorrow morning–or they will finish this process later?
@maxinelime The portal usually updates around 5:00PM EST
Admission results are going to be in the portal right? Plain text “accepted”/“rejected”/“wait-listed” ?
(Might try and write some code that will tell me the results in a cool way
@QueenZi no need to – Yale puts a cool thing that says “Congratulations!!” and it plays music.
