@acrowde I agree with @WhatSally, even though the chance is small, you have nothing to lose and I encourage you to see if there’s any way to still submit an application. It’s very easy for them to say “no” at first, but if you continue to persist, explain your situation, and show that all of your application materials are ready to go, I think there’s still a chance. They obviously haven’t finished going through every single application thoroughly, so it might just be possible to slip in another one into their pile.
Sorry if this has been asked already, but does anyone know when decisions will be released? The wait is horrible!
I have heard that Yale will be released evening of March 30. Ivy Release Day I think.
Did any one get an interview in Arizona?
Thank you for the advice and encouragement everyone. I emailed the director of admissions before school and she said they’d allow me to submit. I’m so happy. They were really kind and encouraging about the situation.
I’m very grateful. Thank you for all the suggestions. I wish the best for you all.
That’s great news! Good luck for all your applications
@acrowde Woohoo!!! Way to be bold and ask for what you want! Remember this moment - whether you get in or not. Good luck!
@acrowde that is such great news! I’m really happy for you
Hey everyone.
I was wondering whether Yale is still offering interviews to applicants? As of today (2/26/17) I still haven’t been emailed by a Yale alum. I live right outside D.C and I have a friend that was interviewed a few weeks back, so I know there should be plenty of Yale alumni in my area. Should this be a cause for concern? I realize my area probably has tons of applicants as well. Thanks!
EDIT: Congrats @acrowde ! May the odds be ever in your favor Hopefully this moment has helped alleviate some of the pain you experienced earlier this year.
@Y2JRedskins If there aren’t enough alumni to interview applicants you may not get an interview but it doesn’t impact your chances in any way. Good luck!

@Y2JRedskins Just because you know people who have been interviewed doesn’t necesssarily mean that there’s space or alumni available to do interviews. Like you said, there are tons of applicants in every major city center, and DC is no exception. Rest assured that not having an interview will not negatively impact your admission decision.
Thanks for the reassurance guys!
@Bem123 I don’t know anyone who has gotten an interview in Arizona.
@Y2JRedskins - I am an interviewer in the DC / suburban Maryland areas. Yes, there are plenty of interviewers, but there are so many applicants in this area that the Alumni Schools Directors are constantly trying to find interviewers to take on additional interviews. After awhile, it reaches the saturation point. You will not be penalized for not having an interview. I was admitted without an interview in the dark ages and I know plenty of current students who did not have interviews. Good luck!!
Has anyone received an invitation for a Yale interview in NJ? I’m checking my email and I don’t think anything has come.
@mufasa1 - though I don’t know if interviews are still being scheduled, I would also encourage you to look at phone numbers or voicemails that you do not recognize. If you are like my D, you don’t answer numbers you don’t recognize, but I know that I usually call my applicants or send them a text. It is much faster and efficient if you have several applicants you are trying to get in touch with. Did you check there?
So… good lord. We’ve finally hit The Month for college decisions.
Eep.
@Seniors.yikes.us your user name is just about the most beautiful thing I have seen all day
I’m an Arizona applicant and I haven’t received an interview request from Yale either. I have had interviews with Harvard, UPenn, Princeton and Dartmouth, but not Yale or Brown (these are the 6 Ivies I applied to).
@daboombas I live in Arizona and I didn’t receive an interview from either Yale or Penn. But I was interviewed by Brown.
